The Atlas Mountains stretch across Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia and separate the Mediterranean and Atlantic coastlines from the Sahara Desert. Toubkal is the highest peak in the range and is 13,671 feet high and boy is it something! These mountain’s diverse terrain, varied climates and wildlife along with being dotted with ancient Berber villages, make it very unique in the world. Not bad eh? The browns and tans of this area stand out in its craggy features and when the sun hits these mountains…man do they really pop. This piece was made to look like a bracelet that a local Berber may wear. The Large Hand-Carved Bone Bead is quite cool and detailed with an ancient feel to it. The 2 Bone Mala Skulls are reminder that it’s better to travel with a partner in this rugged landscape. Life in those mountains can be a little harsh due to the climate, isolated terrain and limited access to modern conveniences. Those skulls also represent the dichotomy of man there...or do they? The Brass, Resin Brass and Yak Bone add to the organic flavor of this piece. These mountains get their name from the ancient Greek Titan, Atlas, so when wearing this bracelet, it will make you feel like you are The King of The Mountains!
