Bora Bora is the crown jewel of the south seas and this bracelet was made to capture a little piece of that paradise. It is a French Polynesian island group in the Leeward Islands in the South Pacific (the Leeward Islands comprise the western part of the Society Islands). Whew, that’s a mouthful---too many islands to choose from. Bora Bora is surrounded by a lagoon and a fantastic barrier reef. In the center of the island are the remnants of an extinct volcano which rises into two peaks, Mount Otemanu and Mount Pahia. Bora Bora literally means “created by the gods” and you can see why. Those lush green peaks and those so dang clear, aqua blue/green waters are worth the long journey there. Until you’re there, you can only imagine. When you’re there, you can’t imagine being anywhere else. Just floating in the shallows with a cold drink in hand is worth every penny…and memory. This bracelet was created with an organic intent in mind…to feel like it was made with bit and pieces you might have gathered there. The colors and textures of the Hand-Carved and Smooth Yak Bone and Horn give it a very rough South Pacific feel. The Minty Green African Ashanti Beads give it a little pop of those blue green waters and the Huge Vintage French Galalith Bead adds to the feel and boldness of this bracelet. It’s a gorgeous bead and the reddy brown/coral color feels like you captured a little piece of one of those glowing sunsets. It’s difficult to give up this piece because it looks truly amazing on the wrist. When looking at it, hopefully it takes your mind and spirit to that lagoon.
