China Cove is truly a hidden gem. Inside the cove is a tiny little beach with aqua blue and green water that rivals anything you see in the South Seas or in the Caribbean. It is located at the end of the road in Point Lobos State Natural Reserve near Carmel, California. Once you hit the parking lot (hopefully it’s empty), it’s just a quick hike until you come across one of the best ocean views you’ll ever see. As you walk down the stairs along the south side, you will see a small cave and a rock arch along the same south wall (best at low tide). Out in the distance, you can see Bird Island offshore which is obviously a bird sanctuary and a birder’s dream. As soon as you get onto the beach, you will have an immediate desire to drop your gear and head right out into the water because you feel like you are in Bermuda. The water is “slightly” cooler than the cherished southern waters and when it is calm enough, you can swim though the arch and then come back around towards the beach. It’s a very surreal environment and you do feel like you are in a tropical paradise and not on the central coast of California. Bring a camera and a snorkel so you can take some cherished memories back with you. This bracelet was made with all the colors and landscape features of this place in mind.
