Flathead Lake in Northwest Montana is just big and blue. It’s quite the sight to see since it is bordered by the Mission and Salish Mountains and boasts lots of history in that neck of the woods. This lake is about 6 square miles and has a dozen little islands dotted throughout making it a fisherman’s and canoe man’s dream. There’s so much to do around that area including Glacier National Park just to the north and the wildlife is second to none. Flathead lies at the southern end of the geological Rocky Mountain Trench so you get the snowcapped mountains surrounding big parts of the lake. When you pull up on it and get your first glimpse, you get the big deal. It’s like staring at a postcard and almost seems like you are gazing at it through one of those old viewfinders. It is crystal clear and since it’s in Big Sky Country, the blue skies magnificently reflect on this body of water. There’s something very manicured about this lake and its shores…like it was decorated for Ansel Adams before one of his epic shoots. This bracelet was made to resemble a piece you might have received at camp during the 1950’s..it just looks nostalgic. The Huge Handmade Ceramic Bead and the Blue Turquoise Jasper showcase Flathead Lake’s unique blue colors. There are some really cool striations in the Ceramic and Jasper. The Hand-Carved Yak Horn adds a tribal feel to the piece and Weathered Ox Bone Beads add the old grittiness to this bracelet. A Bone Mala Skull is added as a reminder for you to always head to mountains when life is up or down---they will bring you the peace you need. Bring plenty of cold beer because you’ll find other lost souls who will probably be joining you there. Peace and joy!
