Years ago, there was a little Italian movie that came out called Mediterraneo that gave the world a little breath of escapism in the perfect little place by the sea. It has a fantastic story; the scenery is sun perfection and the colorful characters each have their own different approach to life that we all share. One of the great lines in the film is "Life isn't enough. One life isn't enough for me. There aren't enough days. Too many things to do, too many ideas. Every sunset upsets me because another day has gone by." I won’t get into the plot because you need to see this flick for yourself. The one thing I can tell you is that it was filmed on the stunning Greek Island of Kastellorizo. This is Greece’s most remote and easternmost inhabited island and is located only about a mile off the southern coast of Turkey. If you want scenery, surreal neoclassical architecture, crystal clear ocean water and a place to escape the crowds, this is your place.
