The Viking town of Klaksvik is nestled on the island of Borðoy in the Faroe Islands. This out-of-the-way place in the Kingdom of Denmark, is a photographer's dream in the summer and winter...thank the stars for digital! This place is big on fishing and is perfectly situated between two inlets lying back-to-back. The mountains that just sprout up out of sea make this village look like something out of middle-earth. Yeah, there are some really cool things to do, great historic sites and the local brew from 1888 have its definite appeal.. However, it's hard not to stub your toes at every turn while wandering the streets while staring at those two giants called Klakkur Mountain and Hálgafelli Mountain...geeze! If you ever want to really feel the true vibe of Northern Europe, this is the place. There is something about the Faroe Islands that make you feel wonderfully alone on this planet…and that’s a cool feeling.
