Komodo island is situated in eastern Indonesia between the islands of Sumbawa and Flores and its home to over 4,000 fearsome dragons. Well, not real dragons, but 10-foot long Komodo Monitor Lizards that really have no fear and are the top predators on their island…so maybe so. It also has wild water buffalo, boar and Timor Deer on the island and surrounding it is very clear, aqua blue waters full of manta rays and sea turtles. It’s a hiker paradise as long as you give the dragons a wide berth and it’s fun to hang out in the bustling port town of Labuan Bajo. If you like to relax on a different kind of beach, head over to Pink Beach in Komodo National Park. It’s accessible by wooden boats and when you get there, you will be blown away by the color of that pink sand. And the snorkeling there is van-damn-tastic and surrealistic with that pink color below you. The sand is pink because tiny fragments of red coral and microscopic marine animals called foraminifera mix with white sand. This bracelet will definitely remind you of your visit to Pink Beach.
