Kyoto should be on everyone’s bucket list for so many reasons. The number one reason should be peace and tranquility because if you can spend more than a couple days there, you will have a sense of relaxation you have never felt before. Even though it’s a substantial size city, there are many places to duck away to feel like you’re in an ancient little world…a lot of times all to yourself. Kyoto origins date before the 6th century and was the capital of Japan until the late 1860’s (it’s known as the 1,000 year capital). There is so much history here that we won’t dive into it here because you’re here for the bracelet right? There are over 2,000 temples and shrines to explore along with incredible gardens, a bustling downtown and a wonderful food culture. This place feels modern, even though you are surrounded by nature with all this purposeful tranquility. There’s a sense of order with a soft rigidness and the people are very friendly with a sense of pride. If you want to experience a taste of this, head over to the Philosopher’s Path (Tetsugaku no Michi) which takes you on a 2-kilometer stroll of blissful senses overload. If you’re lucky enough, you’ll get to experience the cherry blossoms and enjoy a couple of those quaint cafés along the way. This bracelet was created as a homage to that big little city. It just looks cool and has an old, yet modern look to it. It sure does pop on the wrist and is definitely different. The Spider Web Jasper combined with the Aged Ox Bone and Recycled African Phono Vinyl Disks embody both the textures and colors of the ancient temples and stone walkways along the Philosopher’s Path. The Spider Web Jasper looks a little like tree branches when looking up into the heavens. BTW, red (aka) symbolizes strength, passion and happiness in Japan. An Antique 1922 Japanese 10 Sen Coin is thrown in for some real authenticity. The floral design on the coin will remind you of those cherry blossoms. A HUGE bone Mala Skull represents the many famous ancient statues you see sprinkled around Kyoto. A Small Bone Mala Skull represents that peace and tranquility you yearn for. Always seek it out and share the love brothers and sisters…
