The Yangtze River conjures up romanticism, colorful history and nature’s magnificence. It is the longest river in China and the third-longest river in the world which flows down from the mountains of the Tibetan plateau in a generally easterly direction to the East China Sea. In Chinese, it means “The Long River” and boy does it twist around some of the best scenery in the world. Passing through the stunning Three Gorges is equivalent to being in the Grand Canyon in America. Its colorful past includes ancient dynasties, local feuding warlords, pirates, trade and a cultural diversity second to none. Not many westerners get to explore this river, but if you do get to float down its green and muddy brown waters, you’ll definitely feel its past. The brown and reddish tones and hues of this bracelet resemble the colors you’ll find along the Yangtze’s high banks at sunset. The Tigers Eye Gemstones showcase those colors exactly. The Hand-Carved Yak Horn Beads resemble prayer beads, the Copper Disks add a touch of modernness to the piece and the Ox Bone gives this bracelet and ancient feel at the same time. An Antique Asian Coin (think it’s Chinese) represents the trade that gave this river its cultural strength and an Acacia Wood Mala Skull represents how you feel when floating down this river on a calm and peaceful day…like you’re ‘The Lord of The Yangtze.’ You’re on top of the world and discovering new things about this mighty river each and every day. Don’t forget to wave along the way. Peace!
