Snoqualmie Valley is just one of those happy valleys you search for everywhere you go. It’s absolutely gorgeous and is located about 30 – 35 miles east of Seattle in Washington State. There is a ton of Native folklore and history and lots of local legends abound. It’s a deep green valley filled with trees, wide-open meadows and quaint farmland with the Snoqualmie River running straight through it and towered over by the Cascade Mountains. The valley reminds you of parts of the English Countryside or the rolling hills of Iowa or the foothills of Switzerland. However, when you look up, you do realize you are in the Pacific Northwest due to the mountains and big pine trees. One of the best stretches through the valley is the Snoqualmie Valley Trail, especially the 10-mile stretch between Duvall to Carnation. It’s an old railway line that has been converted to a gravel trail and parts of it give you the pleasure of going through endless tunnels of trees. It’s a great trail to hit the pedals on or for a long leisurely hike. Each of the seasons in the valley gives you a unique perspective and vibe.
