In the heart of Arizona lies Yavapai County. This county has so much to offer as far as sightseeing, history and climate. It’s a great clash of Native American, Mexican and cowboy cultures along with a little hippie thrown in to stir the pot---they are proud of it. The county itself is named after the Yavapai Tribe and you do feel their influence and culture everywhere. And did I mention the scenery? Well…I’m gonna. You’ve probably heard of many of the towns such as Sedona, Prescott, Cottonwood and the artist’s city of Jerome which are places you can spend weeks in. BTW, the views from Jerome are just stunning. There is also Campe Verde, Montezuma’s Castle and Tuzigoot National Monument which are those special places we all need to go. What stands out in this area are the breathtaking vistas of the desert. There is such an awesome combo of oranges, reds, chalky whites and sage greens in this region. And of course, there are big beautiful blue skies to add to the mix. There is something different in this county…like a deep sense of authenticity with a spiritual connection to the land. Just getting to see some of the big Cottonwood Trees (especially at Montezuma’s Castle) on a day with those blue skies and billowy clouds is quite a privilege.
